Carmen Gloria has had a passion and love for art and painting all her life. From a very young age, she found different ways to incorporate varied forms of art in all aspects of her life. Carmen Gloria knew she had a love and talent for art, she drew and painted wherever her imagination took her, on the walls in vases, old records, etc. She studied Art and Graphic Design in her home country of Chile. After graduating Carmen Gloria worked for six years for an editorial magazine as a graphic designer managing magazines design content. Needing a change of scenery, Carmen Gloria then moved to Spain, where she lived for two years and sought the opportunity to take art courses and spent all her free time in museums and gallerys.
When Carmen Gloria moved back to Santiago, she began to spend a lot of time with other artists and they formed a painting club, which led her to open an art gallery where she sold and showcased her paintings and invited other artists to paint with her. She continued painting with her artist friends, inviting them to paint at her gallery. It was a very beautiful time because little by little, people would gather at the gallery and wait to watch her and her friends paint on Wednesdays. After many successful years with her art gallery, Carmen Gloria had the opportunity to move to Portland, Oregon. In Portland, to familiarize herself art terms in English, she took courses at Portland Community College, but then soon found out they were almost the same in Spanish.
Carmen Gloria life revolves around art. She has had the opportunity to spend extensive time in Europe and in the Middle East, which has allowed her to see art from different places over the world. She has spent all her vacations inside museums. Some of her favorite museums include the Louvre in France, the Reijk , the Van Goghin Holand, Pradoin Spain, the Iranian National Treasure Museum in Iran , Basilica of Holly land in Belgica and many more.
Carmen Gloria loves to paint oil and uses a combination of different techniques. Her favorite type of painting is realism. she joined Florence Street Gallery and Studios in Beaverton, where she live paints every week ,OSA Oregon Society of Art and recently Painters Show Case and many art shows.
Currently she is very happy working on several projects, as a book illustrator, one of which is already on sale, as well as two new books of her own that are about to be released. She also gives private group and individual painting classes, she welcomes all people interested in painting and art.
